What kinds of projects are funded?
RTOs funded to date have developed training model projects to reduce the
total time taken to complete an apprenticeship. These projects include, but are
not limited to:
- varying the duration of on-the-job and/or off-the-job training;
- implementing accelerated learning programs;
- using recognition of prior learning;
- gap-training programs;
- development of resources to support flexible learning and assessments;
- use of flexible learning and assessment arrangements;
- workplace mentoring strategies;
- ensuring that apprentices, employers and industry retain confidence in
the quality of training and assessment;
- promoting the status of trades; and
- increasing apprentice retention rates.
