On 4 September, the Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, presented awards to the 21 winners of the 2008 Minister's Awards for Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices at a gala event held in Canberra.
The Minister's Awards for Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices recognise those employers who demonstrate commitment, innovation and outstanding achievement in the training of Australian Apprentices. The winning employers each received a cash prize, a certificate commemorating their achievements and a unique trophy.
