The 2010 Minister’s Awards for Excellence for Commitment to Australian Apprenticeships recognises the lifetime achievements of an individual who has completed an apprenticeship or traineeship, continued to work in their field and is now involved in training Australian Apprentices as part of their business or employment. Fundamentally, this person has progressed ‘full circle’ through the Australian Apprenticeships system.
To be eligible for this award the nominee must have demonstrated excellence in relation to:
Nominations are judged on a national basis. The selection panel for finalists’ short-listing and judging of the national winner comprised senior DEEWR officers and industry representatives. The 2009 award winner is invited to take part in the interview process.
Three finalists are chosen to be interviewed by the selection panel. The national winner will be announced at the Minister’s Awards for Excellence presentation ceremony.
The three finalists are invited to attend the Minister’s Awards for Excellence presentation ceremony and dinner at Parliament House, Canberra. The evening will be hosted by the Hon Julia Gillard MP, Minister for Education and Mr Philip Bullock, Chair Skills Australia.
Finalists for the award will receive a framed certificate and return travel and accommodation to receive their award at the presentation ceremony.
The national winner will receive prize money of $2000, a trophy, framed certificate and return travel and accommodation to receive their award at the presentation ceremony.
The nomination round for the 2010 Minister’s Award for Support Services Excellence is now closed.
DEEWR will notify all 2010 nominees, either by email or letter, of the status of their application by no later than 30 June 2010.
