Apprentice: Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

Elliott Grayling credits his father’s dedication to work as an electrician being the reason he chose to undertake an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in  electrotechnology.

Elliott was only 14 years old when he started his training. He believes his Australian School-based Apprenticeship has given him great insight into the many fields offered by the energy sector.

Elliott’s on the job experience with his father’s business, Grayling Electrical, has provided him with experience in domestic installation, commercial buildings, high voltage power stations and the day to day running of a business.

Elliott has excelled in school and in his trade learning modules has achieved top marks in his electrical licensing exams. He hopes to complete his training and go on to study a double degree in electrical engineering and commerce with a view to opening and managing a successful engineering company. Elliott hopes one day to become a leader in electrical technology and ideas for the energy industry.

In 2015, Elliott was a finalist in the Australian School-base Apprentice of the Year Award at the Australian Training Awards.
