Luke Covell’s career in the NRL with the Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers resulted in 153 matches, 62 tries and praise for being one of the most admired players in the competition.
Luke retired from footy in 2012 and took up an Australian Apprenticeship completing a Certificate III in Plumbing. He is now his own boss as the owner of Pink Plumbing – a plumbing and gas fitting business on the Gold Coast.
“Starting an apprenticeship was the most attractive choice for me after footy,” Luke said.
“After four years as an apprentice, I gained a nationally recognised qualification and now I am enjoying being my own boss.”
Luke’s on-field achievements include:
- 2008 Dally M Point Scorer of the Year
- Captain of the Cronulla Sharks
- New Zealand representative
The former winger is a mentor for the NRL where he mentors young players interested in taking up the plumbing trade.
