Renya Xydis is one of Australia's most successful business women.
An industry leader in the hair and beauty profession, Renya credits much these achievements to the foundations provided by her Australian Apprenticeship.
"Without the skills I was taught over the course of my Australian Apprenticeship, I would not be where I am today," Renya said.
"An apprenticeship or traineeship, in any occupation, allows you to learn from people who are experienced and willing to share with you the technical side of the trade."
As the owner and creative director of multiple hair styling salons across Sydney, and now an employer of many Australian Apprentices herself, her talents are in demand.
She attracts many high profile clientele including Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Toni Collette, Miranda Kerr and Hugh Jackman, to name only a few.
When she is not busy with her celebrity clients and working alongside her team of talented hairdressers in the salons, Renya is busy balancing life as a mother to her two beautiful boys, working on editorial fashion shoots for Australian and international magazines such as Harpers Bazaar and Vogue and working on runway shows both locally and internationally.
Proving she really can do it all, Renya was only too pleased to accept a role as an Australian Government Ambassador for Australian Apprenticeships, encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to consider the amazing opportunities provided by this career pathway.
"An Australian Apprenticeship gives you real world skills, desired and needed by industry," she said.
"Completing an apprenticeship or traineeship also provides a unique insight into the business world as well, allowing first-hand experience of how a business operates.
"It's great preparation to become your own boss."
