What are the National Standards for Group Training Organisations?
The National Standards for Group Training Organisations (and Evidence Guide) provide a formal framework that promotes national consistency and quality for group training.
The National Standards were revised and endorsed by the Commonwealth and State and Territory Governments in January 2017.
The Group Training Organisation Logo
The Group Training logo is the distinguishable mark of quality for promoting and certifying GTOs who have met the National Standards for Group Training Organisations and have been registered by a State or Territory Training Authority (STA).
It is an offence against the National Standards for an unrecognised or de-registered GTO to use the logo.
Continued use of the logo requires a successful audit to be conducted by STAs against the National Standards every three years. De-registration of a GTO requires immediate cessation of the use of the logo.
For more information read The Group Training Logo - Specifications and Guidelines for Use.
If you are interested in becoming a registered GTO under the National Standards, please contact your State or Territory Training Authority (STA).
Maintaining GTO status
GTOs must comply with the National Standards in order to be registered. State and territory training authorities are responsible for registering GTOs in their jurisdictions and monitoring their compliance with the National Standards. For more information, please contact your State or Territory Training Authority.
If GTOs wish to operate in another State or Territory, they will need to seek approval by application and address the operating requirements of that State or Territory Training Authority.
Benefits and Funding
Government funding may be available to GTOs from Australian Government and State and Territory programs to support their role in employing and supporting apprentices and trainees. For more information about funding contact your State or Territory Training Authority (STA).
